Trapping Nutria – Live trapping of nutria is one of the best nutria removal methods but not the most economical. Live-traps are bulky and labor intensive. They also bring attention to your traps making them easy prey for uninformed animal activists.
- Snaring Nutria – Snaring nutria is more low-key Nutria removal method and snares are less bulky than live traps but you do run a risk of unattended domestic animals being caught in snares.
- Shooting Nutria – Shooting nutria is a good low cost nutria removal method of eradication of nutria but not the best choice in urban or suburban areas and in many cases against the law.
- Poisoning Nutria – Poisoning Nutria is a nutria removal method that is legal but not recommended. Poisoning nutria can cause non target and even protected species to be killed. Although zinc phosphate is labeled for nutria it is a restricted use pesticide that can only be used by licensed pest control operators.
This is a very dangerous pesticide and can result in human death by mishandling or misuse of this product.
